I have a lot of Canon HV20 footage, shot in Canon's 24p mode, which like most other cameras is then interpolated to 60i. Any chance of supporting HDV content, which I believe is MPEG2?

Thanks

24p HDV support

Our conversion process converts from H.264 to an uncompressed format, which is where we do all the manipulation like 24p, adding overlays and so on.

We only have a H.264 decoder so doing MPEG2 decoding isn't possible for us at this time.

But that does not sound like

But that does not sound like an insurmountable task. In fact, it sounds like you could just switch the decoder and it would work? And there are plenty of free open source MPEG2 decoders available.
Any chance of getting this soon? I actually think that's a bigger market than AVCHD still. Search for "Canon HV20 pulldown removal" and see all the awkward solutions people have proposed, but no one-step process (short of Cineform, which is 3-4 times as expensive).

MPEG2 conversion

Everything is possible - its just a question of priortising features.

We'll have a look at the MPEG2 decoders available and see if they fit in with our conversion approach.
