We're working away on new features for FlamingoHD, so we thought we open up to suggestions from our users also.
If you have anything that you would like to see in FlamingoHD then please post here.
Thanks!
View full clip in VLC or other external app
I just bought FlamingoHD, and I'm a bit disappointed it doesn't have full preview of the movie. After all, I often need to see more than a few thumbnails to be able to organize my clips properly. Until you have the real thing, a really easy fix for now would be to just open the clip in VLC Player when it's double-clicked. Or at least attempt to open the MTS file in whatever program is associated with the extension. On my system, it's VLC ;)
VLC...
Since a few people have VLC successfully playing MTS files, I wanted to ask... I don't know what I've done to my system but for some reason, even though I got a beta version of VLC to play MTS quite well before - fairly smooth, after I've done a fresh install recently when I installed Snow Leopard, for some reason it's much chunkier and not worth trying. Any ideas?
VLC
Hi there,
we've only ever had mixed success with VLC. In fact, we've never found a reliable AVCHD player for the Mac, which is why we decided to build our own previewer. AVCHD is very highly compressed with quite high bit rates, so its always going to be a challenge for desktop computers to play.
Thanks for the input. The
Thanks for the input. The ability to open a MTS file using its default application was intended to be in the original FlamingoHD build, but missed out somehow. We've fixed it now and it will be working in the next release (probably a couple of weeks away).
FYI, we're waiting for QuicktimeX to see how that goes with AVCHD files. If that supports acceptable playback, we'll hook it in.
